The current ShiftSpindle workflow

One request, carried through the shift.

See how a saved maintenance request can move through an AI assessment, a team-approved follow-up task, conditional manager alerts, and the workspace’s operations views.

From request to operations overview

Each step keeps its place in the record.

The walkthrough below describes current ShiftSpindle behavior. It uses generic labels, not a customer, factory, equipment history, or saved request.

  1. Request saved

A team member records the maintenance request.

The request becomes a workspace record. Its saved details and any linked part provide the context for the next step.

  2. Saved AI assessment

Triage records an assessment alongside the request.

Saved triage assesses potential downtime as none, possible, or likely. It saves its rationale, any applicable linked-part evidence, and a routine follow-up recommendation with the request.

This is an assessment—not confirmation of downtime or a failure prediction.

  3. Team-chosen follow-up

A recommendation becomes a task only when someone saves it.

A team member can save the routine recommendation to the workspace follow-up queue, then assign it, add or change its optional due date, and update its status. The task remains connected to the maintenance request.

  4. Conditional manager alert

Only a qualifying current assessment can trigger an immediate alert.

If the saved assessment is still current and meets the workspace’s configured minimum risk level, ShiftSpindle can send an immediate email. Eligible recipients are the verified workspace owner and any currently authorized, verified managers included in alert settings.

A request or assessment does not automatically mean an alert is sent.

  5. Shift-start and daily views

The saved work carries into operations summaries.

The workspace Operations overview supports shift-start review. The scheduled daily operations digest covers open work, low-stock parts, saved follow-up suggestions, and qualifying saved potential-downtime assessments.
